A man looking down from a high rise desolate roof top trying to figure out chasm below which keeps on widening and deepening and he realizes that city of his dreams is going to submerge under the pressure of inefficiency and spirit of system to fight back crime.
This man is Naseeruddin Shah who gave a scintillating performance in “Wednesday”.
To match up to his intimidating best performance, Anupam kher has once again proved that when it comes to films it’s not the footage minutes that count. It’s about the savoir faire with which you delve into the character and bring it to life.
NS plays the role of a common man who is tired, deserted and shattered by the events and miss-happenings in his city and after some soul searching decides to vent his frustration on security agencies of the state through a plan.
Plot starts from Anupam Kher’s office who is Mumbai’s top cop. He receives a call from a anonymous caller who warns him to pander to his wishes on the leverage that 5 live bombs have been planted in Mumbai which will blow up at 6 in evening. Anupam Kher plays the role with a panache that keeps you glued to the screens. Both renowned artists have outdone themselves to bring out the message in the story and the plight of common man.
It’s not one of those gruesome flicks with grey shades but a thriller and suspense flick with a message that “The power of one is the power to do anything”. Movie depicts how common man gets affected every time an accident takes place. How common man bears the burnt patiently until one day he is no longer top face himself in mirror and decides to take things in hand.
Jimmy Shergill who plays an ATS officer also does a great justice to his role. I wouldn’t want to reveal the plot and kill the whole surprise. Unquestioningly this movie is worth much more it’s dough. For a change our bollywood is moving to non masala movies without idiotic, blaring melodies which hold no meaning. Watch the movie!!
